British American Tobacco South Africa - Our brands
BAT South Africa’s diversified portfolio reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving and varied needs of today’s adult consumer.
Our portfolio comprises a range of scientifically tested, reduced risk vapour products under our brand Vuse and modern oral products under our brand VELO as well as six cigarette brands namely Dunhill, Peter Stuyvesant, Rothmans, Pall Mall, Benson & Hedges and Kent which are primarily manufactured locally in our Heidelberg factory.
Adult nicotine consumers drive everything we do at BAT South Africa, and we invest effort and care in understanding their preferences. We believe that adult consumers should make informed choices about their brand and product preferences. As such, our business is committed to reducing the health impact of our products by providing adult nicotine consumers with a wide range of enjoyable and potentially less risky vapour and modern oral alternatives while continuing to meet the preferences of adult smokers with leading cigarette brands and superior products. Through these continuous efforts, we aim to meet the evolving and varied needs of today’s consumers who seek sensorial enjoyment for different moods and moments.
Importantly, we never aim our marketing at anyone younger than 18 years. Similarly, we will never persuade adults to begin or continue smoking but do believe that consumers are entitled to relevant information about our combustible and non-combustible products.
Our marketing practices are compliant with local legislation and regulations in South Africa and are also aligned with the BAT Group’s International Marketing Principles . These Principles have set a benchmark for the whole industry.
