Anthony began his career in 1996 at international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, in the advisory services and audit division. In 2000, he became Group Financial Controller for one of the biggest department store chains in Lebanon.
In 2003, Anthony joined BAT in Beirut, Lebanon, as the Finance Manager for Levant and Yemen, where his responsibilities included financial accounting, management accounting, tax, treasury, and marketing finance. He moved to the Democratic Republic of the Congo as Finance Director at the end of 2005, and in 2008 became Regional Operations Finance Manager for BAT’s Africa and Middle East region.
Anthony moved to Egypt as CFO for BAT’s North African operations in 2010, where he spent almost four years before moving to West Africa as Finance Director for Nigeria and West Africa.
As of November 2017, Anthony is the Head of Finance for BAT’s Southern African Area.
Anthony is trilingual, and has two children, Emile and Freya, with his wife, Rita. He enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family, and watching sports such as tennis and Formula One.
Anthony holds a Master’s degree in money and banking, corporate and international finance, investment banking and security analysis. He has an undergraduate BSc degree in accounting and finance, and is a US-certified public accountant.
